Kitchen Bytes: camera search is on...

If you haven't figured out by now, what with all the blurry photos... my beloved yet ancient digital camera is on it's way out. Tempted as I am to splurge on a DSLR camera to take all those beeyoootiful pics (i had one back in college for class) but then i'm also the type who likes to take my camera everywhere so slim-able-to-fit-in-purse would be more fitting.

So foodies, what cameras do you use and how would you rate them? Any recommendations?

UPDATE 28 JUNE: Momma's got a new cam! Well, I went all the way to the store today with a SLR stuck firmly in my mind then got blown away by a more cheaper by few hundred RM, normal Powershot that has enough features to keep me happy in both worlds... Haven't gotten through the user guide yet but am already liking that my Canon A590IS captures water and yes, smoke/steam just about perfect too. Just check out my second shot (p/s that's my mom busy de-veining prawns btw)... And yeah, I did wimp out of getting a full-fledged digital SLR at the last minute

I have three. I use my Sony DSC-H7 to take everywhere and sometimes I sometimes use my old Fuji FinePix F600; it's small. For most of my indoor food shots, I use my, new Sony DSLR A350. I love that camera!
