Chicken Kurma

Chicken Kurma
Ingredients:
Chicken pieces
2 potatoes - Quartered
Onion - sliced
Garlic - halved
Green chilli - quartered and seeds removed
2 tablespoons Kurma curry powder
1 cup Yogurt
A generous handful of cashew nuts - ground into powder
10 cashew nuts - whole
2-3 Cloves + 2 cardamom pods + 1 cinnamon stick
Half a handful of black raisins
Salt and pepper to taste
Ghee (clarified butter) or any normal oil
1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder

Method:
1. If you can't get kurma curry powder, go here to get recipe to make it from scratch.
2. Pre-marinade the chicken in yogurt, salt and a bit of turmeric.
3. Heat ghee in pan. Add spices till fragrant and then add in onions, garlic and chilli. Saute till soft.
4. Add in chicken, potatoes and a bit of water. Leave to cook.
5. When chicken is half cooked, add kurma powder and ground cashew powder. Stir well to coat chicken. Throw in whole cashew nuts and raisins.
6. Serve with briyani or butter rice and cucumber raita for a truly decadent meal.
